Name Meaning: Dawn Mother
Diet: Omnivore
Size: Size of a modern Syrian Hamster.
Time: Early Cretaceous (112 to 97 million years ago)
Appearance
The Eomaia is essentially one of the earliest mammals in the fossil record. They looked a lot like mice and other four legged long tailed rodents. They had fur as well as oval ears and grasping hands for trailing along branches and terrain.
Behaviour
Eomaia probably lived in either a colony like rats, lived in mated pairs or only came together for mating like rabbits and other rodents. They ate anything small enough to fit in their mouths, insects, foliage, small fish and any scraps they could scavenge. They where often prayed on by larger Dinosaurs like the Microraptor so they might have lived in underground burrows.
